William Broad McKee, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, in Bracebridge, Ontario, marking the end of a remarkable life that began on August 29, 1927, in Toronto, ON.
A skilled mechanic, Bill dedicated his life to his craft, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and countless customers. He was known not only for his technical skill but also for his great sense of humour, which brightened the days of those fortunate enough to know him. Bill possessed a fantastic memory and remained sharp as a tack until the very end. His caring nature made him a pillar in his community, as he continuously offered support and love to those around him. Bill made a friend with everyone he met.
Bill held many interests beyond his career; he found joy in riding his motorcycle, an activity that brought him freedom and exhilaration. His faith was a cornerstone of his life; he loved God, his family, and his church family deeply. His spirituality guided him, and he cherished quoting scriptures throughout his life, even in his final moments.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Gladys Edith McKee (Stewart), and all his siblings, including Kenneth, Lloyd, Helen, Donald, and Douglas. Bill leaves behind a loving family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. His neighbours, who often felt like family, played a significant role in his life, providing companionship and help, underscoring the deep connections he forged within his community.
A private burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto.
A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Gravenhurst on October 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
