Virginia peacefully passed away at her home in Gravenhurst on August 16, 2023. She was born on September 20, 1943, in Toronto, ON. Beloved wife of the late Dwayne Fick of Gravenhurst. Virginia's compassionate nature was evident not only through her professional endeavors but also in her relationships with family and friends. She deeply loved and cared for all those close to her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family members: her children, Jason (Sherri), and Andrew (Rhonda), grandchildren who were recipients of endless love and affection from their grandmother, Dillon (Alex), Logan (Kenzie), Justin (Kassi), Cassidy, and Noah (Charma). Also remembered fondly by dear brothers Greg Brown and David Whitlock - whose presence added warmth to Virginia's life.
Virginia was predeceased by her sisters: Beverley Orr, Linda Patterson, and Carol Macksey. Through thick and thin, they shared a bond that cannot be broken. The joyous moments they experienced together shall forever be etched in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Virginia embarked on an incredible career as a secretary at Gravenhurst Public School and Beechgrove Public School. Her dedication and hard work made a lasting impact on the staff and students she interacted with. Virginia's commitment to her profession was exemplary, and she always strived to provide the utmost support and assistance to everyone around her.
In addition to her successful career, Virginia cherished the precious moments spent pursuing her hobbies and interests outside of work. She found solace in the great outdoors, often embarking on camping adventures surrounded by nature's beauty. Gardening held a special place in her heart as well, allowing her to cultivate vibrant blossoms that brought joy to those around her.
Though Virginia's physical presence may no longer grace us, her memory will continue to radiate love and light. May she rest in eternal peace, forever embedded in our hearts.
In honour of her wishes, a private family graveside service was held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Mickle Memorial Cemetery.
