HILL, Verna Marie (nee Mahoney) Passed away peacefully at Granite Ridge Retirement Residence in Gravenhurst on Saturday, September 20th, 2014 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Hill who predeceased Verna in 2001. Loving mother of Ross Hill (Connie Laycock)of Gravenhurst and the late Helen Hill, Lorraine (Bob) Gilchrist of Gravenhurst and Joan (Don) Morrison of Barrie. Cherished grandmother of Andrea, Jo-Anne, Janet-Lyn, Heather, Lisa, Rhonda, Brad and Melanie. Great grandmother of Warren, Melissa, Rebecca, Patrick, Jamie, Lindsay, Kaitland, Jonnica, Sheridan and Lilah. Dear sister of Frank Mahoney of Belleville, Joan Hanson of Orillia, Marion Birnie of Barrie and Corrine Waller of Toronto. Pre-deceased by her children, Shirley Roberts and Ron Hill, brothers, Jack and Charles Mahoney and by her grandson Randy. In keeping with Verna's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family graveside interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.
