With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tom Mason, a true outdoorsman whose greatest joy was found in nature. Born and raised in Bala, Ontario, Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter, always at peace on the water or in the woods. He cherished every moment spent exploring Moon River, camping beneath the stars, road-tripping to new destinations, and making lasting memories in Muskoka with his children.

Tom was the beloved son of the late Murray and Mary Mason and a dear brother to Joanne Norton, Theresa, and his surviving brother, Joe. He was a devoted father to Jamie (Dawn), Jennifer, Lucy (Dave), George, and Matthew. Above all, he took immense pride in his role as "Poppa," a title he wore with love and laughter, to Mary Jane, Aiden, Kendra, Mckenzie, Madison, Tylena, Angelene, Anthony, and Alysha. He will also be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he adored.

Tom’s adventurous spirit, love for nature, and unwavering warmth will live on in the stories we share and the places that remind us of him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In honor of Tom, take a moment to appreciate the great outdoors—cast a line, take a hike, or watch the sunset over the water, just as he would have loved. If you wish, donations may be made to a men’s mental health organization in his memory.
