DAWICHUK, Theodore Franklin (Ted) Passed away peacefully in his 76th year at the Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, Bracebridge Site on Saturday May 19, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of June (nee Campbell) Dawichuk of Gravenhurst. Cherished father of Lisa (Gord) Weaver of Port Colborne and Alan Dawichuk of Gravenhurst. Dearly loved grand dad and buddy to Paul, Ethan and Sean. Loved brother of Joyce (Leon) Sokalski of Montreal. Brother-in-law of Doreen Mandrak of Burlington and Norman, Derek and Valerie of England. Ted was the dearly loved son of the late Joseph and Vicky Dawichuk He was also predeceased by his younger brother Edward Joseph Dawichuk and by his loving mother and father-in-law Roger and Lily Campbell of England. Ted will be missed by many nieces and nephews whose lives he touched with hugs and smiles both in Canada and England. Ted's extended family of two surviving aunts; Jean Corosky and Adeline Weiss, along with their families will miss his ability to "light up a room " with his warm smile and love of a song. He will be greatly missed by dear neighbours, Bill and Liz Samler and their family, as well as all of his Caroline Street family. Ted grew up in Gravenhurst and he and his family were well known in the town. He worked for many years at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre where he enjoyed seeing the young and old coming to play his favourite sport.......Hockey! He loved sports and never ever missed a game of hockey or baseball on the television, even while he was in the hospital. Till we meet again Ted! Never to be forgotten. The family will receive friends at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Wednesday May 23, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 P. M. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday May 24, 2012 at 11:00 a. m. Cremation to follow. In memory of Ted donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka would be greatly appreciated.
