Stella Orchard

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Stella Pearl Orchard (Dixon, Grisdale), who passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1st, 2022, at Muskoka Shores Care Community in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Born April 23rd, 1936, in Moon River, Ontario, Stella is now reunited with her loving husband the late John Orchard (2021), stepdaughter Pamela (2014) and stepson Ian (1994).

Devoted mother to her son Stanley (Cindy); stepmother to Fred (Leslie) and Todd (Lisa).  Loving grandmother to Dennis (Ashleigh), Jessica (Drew) and Nikki (Mike); step-grandmother to Carly, Sarah, Morgan, Ben, and Sacha.  Proud great-grandmother to Bennett, Levi, Stanley, and Miller.

Stella will be sadly missed by her surviving siblings (George and Yvonne) and Laura.

Stella was the “Pearl” of the North, who spent untold hours working and volunteering at the Bala Legion.  She always had kind words and big smiles for everyone she met, and the world is now dimmer without her light shining in it.  She will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In memory, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 424 Bala and can be arranged by Cavill Funeral Home.
