He is remembered as a beloved soulmate of the late Helen Richards and a dear uncle to Cindy, Kelly, and Mark, Nancy and Kathy. Stanley’s extended family includes Jo, Chip, and Denise, Jessie, Bryan & Shirley, Nancy & Jim, Brad & Chris. He is also deeply missed by his fur baby, Maggie, who was a cherished companion during his later years. He was predeceased by his only sister Betty Ogden.

For 32 years, Stanley served as a paramedic, a role that encapsulated his commitment to helping others in their times of need. In his younger days, he was an Air Cadet, a testament to his dedication to service and leadership from an early age. Beyond his career in emergency services, It was said that he would always have a little side business going, exemplifying his enterprising nature. His successes included running a salmon fishing charter on Lake Ontario and managing a coffee business.

Stanley had a profound love for Bala Park Island, a special place where he built his own cottage, floated over cabins and puttered. He started the island kids fishing derby, was the ever-present safety boat for the Bala Sailing Club, always had a boat or motor repair/rebuild on the go, love of motorcycles with the White Knights EMS fund raising rides, loved old time country music, and attention to his garden and lawn that served as a physical manifestation of his work ethic and attention to detail.

A special thank you to the staff (and Noir) at Andy’s House for making his last days full of love and caring.
