Shirley Stables

Passed away peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 14th, 2017. Shirley was in her 95th year, she was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Stables (Nov. 2017) of Gravenhurst. Loving mother to Danny Stables (Dianne) of Ottawa, Mark Stables of Guelph. Cherished grandmother to Janelle, Alexa, Ella, Haley, Emma, and Nyah, great grandmother to Lola. Great aunt to Dane (Amanda), Alissa, Christopher (Tina), Andrew (April), Riley, Alexandra, Liam, Mitchell, Lauren, Hartley, Reece and Macy. Also survived by her brother Cliff Mitchell , nephews Barry, Blaine and Tim Morrison, and niece Shelley Reville. Predeceased by her brother Bill Sullivan, her sister Phyllis Morrison, sister-in-law Patsy and nephews Paul and Hughie Morrison. Shirley was born and raised on Manitoulin Island, and came to Hamilton in the 1950's where she met Gord. They married and had sons Danny and Mark, transferring to New Brunswick and then eventually moving back to Muskoka. Shirley was a successful realtor well into her 80's. She was a well respected and admired member of the Gravenhurst community. Friends may join the family on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, Gravenhurst with parish prayers to be recited in the funeral home chapel at 3:30pm on Wednesday. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church with reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in Mickle Cemetery in the spring. If desired, memorial contributions to Alzheimer Society of Muskoka would be greatly appreciated.
