Ross

Peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Friday, March 30, 2018. Ross Hopkins in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Linda Hopkins (nee McGarrick) who predeceased Ross in 2012. Beloved father to Ronnie (Deb) Hopkins of Rupert, Idaho, Paula (Steven) Gilmour of Louisville, Kentucky, Gerta (Leon) Schrauwen of The Netheralnds, Rodney (Denise) Rousell of Brampton and Mark Rousell of Toronto. Ross was the beloved brother to Dennie Jorgenson of St. Catharines, Brenda Hopkins of Owen Sound, Julie of Kingston and Sally (Dave) Weir of Kingston. Much loved grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Ross was predeceased by his parents Milton and Clara and by his siblings Ralph, Grant, Dennis and Kathy. Ross served in Germany with the Queen's Own Rifles post World War 2 and was a proud member of the Branch #101 Long Branch Legion, Toronto. In keeping with Mr. Hopkins' wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be any services held. Interment of both Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins' ashes will take place in the Spring at the Dunks Bay Cemetery, Tobermory. Arrangements entrusted to the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, Gravenhurst.
