Kenwright, Robert (Bob) William On Friday, January 11th Bob died peacefully in hospital after a short fight with cancer. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Charles, daughter and son-in-law Lee and Cory Dawe, grandsons Evan and Kyle, and his sister, Heather Cartwright. Bob is pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Rhoda, and his sister Betty Baldwin. Extended family members - the Kenwrights, Cartwrights, Baldwins, Strongmans, and Coveys - all mourn losing Bob. The family thanks not only friends and neighbours for their support and encouragement during this difficult time, but also staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge, and at Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake, Newmarket. Born in Toronto in 1947, Bob spent his childhood years in the Baby Point Valley. He attended Richview Collegiate, the University of Western Ontario, and York University. He spent every summer at the family's Clear Lake cottage: sailing; motor boating; waterskiing, and as an older teen was spared a couple of days per week at the cottage from his summer job at Tonecraft Paints/Color Your World. Some Saturday nights he'd frequent "Kee to Bala", where he met Margaret. It was love at first sight! After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 1971, Bob was a sales representative for American Hospital Supply and Baxter-Travenol where he moved into marketing. He gained further marketing experience with Searle Pharmaceuticals and Fisons. In 1994 Bob left the corporate world to begin a small advertising agency with Margaret. They developed physician-patient education materials, running the business from their home office in Mississauga. In 1999, with their children no longer at home, they moved to Muskoka and continued their business from Clear Lake so they could enjoy life in Muskoka year round. Bob was early to grasp how technology can make for a good work/life balance. Now there was more time to golf, snowmobile, and gaze at the stars using Bob's elaborate astronomy equipment. Bob especially loved having fun with his grandsons on the lake. Indeed, his children and his nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nephews and grand-nieces all have fond memories of time spent with Bob at Clear Lake. Bob was an enthusiastic and active member of the community. His various roles included: Muskoka Tourism Board member; Clear Lake Property Owners' Association board member/President; Muskoka Lakes Snow Trails Association Vice-President/President; Muskoka Snowmobile Region/District Trail Patrol Instructor; Windermere Golf & Country Club Marketing/Membership Chair. A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, January 19th at Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate Bob's life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Messages of condolence can be left at www.cavillfuneralhome.com.
