Ricardo (Richard) Correia, 65, of Georgetown, passed away of natural causes in his home on July 19th, 2023. He was born October 16, 1957, in Portugal to Maria and Ilidio Correia. He was the older of two sons, and was very close to his younger brother Rui. He came to Canada as a young child and grew up in Toronto, heavily involved in their music scene. He went on to study real-estate and finances, where he dabbled in many different career paths.
Richard, the beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather is survived by his daughter, Kayla and her husband Joshua; grandchildren, Chloe, Dani, Autumn. Son, Eric and his wife Oli; and his cat Jackie.
As a man of laid back attitude and appreciation for jazz music, Richard was a perceptive and intelligent man who was well read on the ancient works of the Vedic and Greek traditions, which contributed to his appreciation for nature and sense of humor; he was always ready to make someone laugh. Although a somewhat solitary man, Richard enjoyed the company of his family, and often was seen as the “fun one”. As his children grew up he was well known among their friends as the “fun dad” who would take them swimming, run them around the yard in a wheelbarrow, and let them experiment on all his musical instruments. Richard had a passion for music and played many different instruments. He was a member of numerous bands throughout the years, and spent his spare time “jamming” in the basement of his home.
Richard was a great man whose impact will be forever felt by those he has left behind, and will miss him dearly
