WARDMAN, Phyllis Helen (Hobden) – It Is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Wardman. She passed peacefully at Granite Ridge Retirement Home on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in her 91st year.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Douglas Wardman (2002). Loving mother of Gerry (Joan), and Susan Ragsdale (Rob). Adored grandmother of Melody Hill (Jordan), Leanne Wardman (Greg Carnes), Mike Ragsdale (Cari Siebrits), and Ryan Ragsdale. Proud great grandmother of Jody Hill. Dear sister of Richard Hobden of Windsor, ON.
Phyllis taught at Gravenhurst Public School for many years and was always proud of her students.
Phyllis and Doug enjoyed their retirement, joining the Bifocals Band, travelling, spending winter at Ft. Myers Beach with their Gravenhurst Gang.
She was an avid card player, especially Bridge. Phyllis also loved her daily crossword and her Hallmark Christmas movies.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to all the staff at Granite Ridge for their excellent care and compassion.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held at Cavill Funeral Home on Thursday September 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM. The service will be live streamed. Please go to www.cavillfuneralhome.com for viewing instructions. A public Celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice greatly appreciated.
