Murray Roberts

ROBERTS, Murray Stanley WWII Veteran Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19th, 2014 at Granite Ridge Retirement Residence in his 91st year. Survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ruth (nee Dufton). Loving father of Barbara (Tom), Marnie (Tom) and Ron (Liz). Proud papa of Jamie and Julia, Nicole (Dennis) and Hillary and Josh. Great-grandfather of Nathan. A WWII veteran of the navy, he served aboard the aircraft carrier HMS Nabob. Murray was introduced to the beauty of Muskoka in 1938 and in the summer of 42 met Ruth, the love of his life, at the Ark. After retiring from a lifelong career in the machine tool industry (Cae Morse) in 1984, Murray and Ruth spent the next 30 years back in Muskoka, loving every minute of it. Always involved in the community, Murray was a past commander of the Gravenhurst Power and Sail Squadron.
