Michael Stora

STORA, Michael Joseph Oscar – Passed away at his residence, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in his 84th year. Michael was the loving father of his son Bryant and his ‘forever‘ daughter Marnie. Cherished grandfather of Eden and Sydney. Loved brother of Leo Stora (Jackie) Gananoque, Agnes Lagrendeur of Gravenhurst, and Anne Marie Decaire (Doug) of Wahta First Nation.  Fondly remembered uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mike held a lifelong zest for life that led him to pursue a variety of interests and hobbies. Golfing, flying, skating, and sailing were his enjoyed pastimes throughout various stages of his life. Mike’s lifelong passion however was music; his guitar playing a fixture in the St Paul’s church choir for many years.

Mike believed strongly in giving back to his community. Over the years he volunteered with Scouts Canada, Gravenhurst minor soccer, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and the Gravenhurst curling club youth program.  He also volunteered for the Canadian Cancer society as a driver for patients attending treatment. He also worked for several years as the helpful Canadian Tire Guy in town, retiring in 1999 as the Receiving Manager.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 5 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 235 John St S, Gravenhurst. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Gravenhurst. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
