Kilworthy

Marlene Marie Louise Poisson, born on August 27, 1963, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, departed this world on November 8, 2024, at Andy's House Hospice in Port Carling, Muskoka. Marlene's warmth and creativity touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In her early career, Marlene dedicated herself to working at exploration camps, where she made lasting memories and connections that spanned the rest of her life. Her passion for the outdoors was one of her defining traits, and even during her later years, as she faced health challenges, she found solace in the beauty of nature. Marlene cherished moments spent outside, especially in the peaceful surroundings of the hunt camp she loved.

Marlene was a creative spirit, known for her dedication to arts and crafts. She enjoyed knitting gifts for her friends and family, pouring love and care into each stitch. Her artistic talents reflected her generous heart, and her creations were treasured by those who received them.

Marlene shared her life with her loving spouse, Neil Maukonen, and was supported by her brothers and sisters: Claude, the late René, Gaétane (Bernard Grenier), Marc (Rose-Mary Ramos), Suzanne (Luc Gobeil), Linda (Daniel Dufresne), and the late Huguette. She is also remembered fondly by her mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as many nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends who will carry her memory forward.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fernand Poisson and Jeanine Hallé, who laid the foundation of love and support that Marlene extended to her own family.

To honour her wishes, there will be no public funeral services. An intimate family gathering will be organized in her memory. Her ashes will be interred in the D'Alembert cemetery in Rouyn-Noranda at a later date.

Marlene's spirit will live on through the countless lives she impacted with her kindness, creativity, and love for nature. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
