Marion Elizabeth Austin

August 28, 1936 — January 1, 2024

Gravenhurst

It is with immense sadness and deep shock that the family of Marion Austin share the very sad news of her sudden death. Two weeks ago she was walking 3 Km a day…a rebel who had to close that red circle on her phone “Daily”!

Then Christmas started happening…she was a very busy girl! 💜💋💜

For the last 5 plus years she was the best roomie, fearless adventurer, and travel companion to her daughter Lana Lee and Lily Cat. (Richard). Loving Mother to Daryl (Debbie) cherished Nana to Jacob (Samantha), Dylan, Amazing Great Nana to Owen and Grace . Granny to Alan (Karah), Amanda(Corey) and Jessica. Great Granny to Dixson, Jen, Aaliaih, Jaivon and Kemoi.

Predeceased by her husband (2018) Charles Keith Austin and her parents Norman and Maria Sedore, brothers Doug (Lorna) and Ken (Betty)

Special Aunt to many Nieces and Nephews.

Mother was a dedicated employee at A&P for 32 years. After she retired she worked at Painted Porch and helped out at Lana Lees flower shop. She was our head flower cleaner and took her bucket washing VERY seriously! When Lana Lee opened Blooming Muskoka she bought her own very first car to come help at the flower shop. She Loved Every Minute!! After Dad passed mother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. This past August she was 5 Years cancer free!!

In Gravenhurst she made many amazing friends. She learned to knit at 83 and made many amazing sweaters, blankets, and shawls. Her knitting circle were Lana Lees angels. They spent many many hours taking Mom to appointments, lunch or knitting and coffee at our house.

She was Mom to Lana Lee's circle in Gravenhurst. Always ready to go for a drink at Ken and Karen’s boathouse, 4 wheeling to Ken and Karen’s cabin, bonfires at Jane and Selwyn’s, Nana and Marion to Taffey, Sakari Wally and Charlie her dog family, dinner at Susan and Fred’s, or entertain at our house…she loved it all!!

Believe it or not…she was the Queen of cannibus Salve sales!! Who knew eh?

Mom you will be missed!! We all Loved You!

You sure kicked down that door to Heaven on January 1st looking for Dad!

We Love you!

Your Kids, Grandkids, Great Grandkids, our Boathouse Family, and the Knitting Girls.

P.S. Thanks Mom…I won’t have to buy Kleenex for at least 3 years!! I found your stash!! 💜💋💜
