Margaret Friend

Friend, Margaret Marie (nee Down) Peacefully at the Health Science North Hospital in Sudbury on Thursday August 30, 2012 with her son Robert and his wife Maureen at her side. Margaret Marie Friend in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Hilton "Bud" Friend of Gravenhurst who predeceased Marg in November 2003. Dear mother to Catherine (Peter) Cooper of Aurora and Robert and Maureen Friend of Manitowaning. Marg was predeceased by her son Cameron Bruce Friend in 1993. She will be missed by her sisters; Ella Vance and Jean Mills. Marg is predeceased by her sister Etghel Daniels and by her brother Arthur Down. Margaret enjoyed sharing in the lives of her grandchildren and was a special "GG" to her great grandchildren. Margaret spent the last three months on Manitoulin Island with her family, enjoying new friends, experiences and moving forward as always. A graveside service will be held at Mickle Memorial Cemetery (Legion Section), in Gravenhurst on Sunday September 16, 2012 at 1:00 p. m. A gathering for family and friends to share memories will be held at the Gravenhurst Royal Canadian Legion Hall Branch #302 following the graveside service. All are welcome. In memory of Margaret, donations to the Gravenhurst Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302 would be greatly appreciated.
