Les was born on July 13, 1936, in Trenton, ON, peacefully passed away on July 28, 2024 at Muskoka Shores Long-term Care in Gravenhurst, ON. He was a man of quiet nature who cherished a peaceful and serene life.
Les found solace and joy in the pages of a good book particularly books about wartimes. Additionally, he took great pleasure in spending time at home comfortably seated in his Lazyboy chair while rooting for his favorite baseball team, the NY Yankees.
Throughout his career, Les achieved the remarkable feat of serving as Superintendent at General Motors for an impressive 35 years. His dedication and hard work left an indelible mark on those around him.
Leslie Arthur Samis will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his surviving family: his beloved wife Rita Mary Samis (nee Goulah), loving children Stephen Michael Samis (Chris Boodram), and Linda Ann Davidson (Scott) as well as his cherished grandson Aaron Michael Davidson.
In honor of Les's memory, a celebration of life service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Bowmanville, on Saturday, October 19, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. May we find comfort in the legacy of a man who lived life with quiet grace and unwavering dedication. May he rest in peace.
