Larry Boyd

July 30, 1941 — November 29, 2018

BOYD, Larry George - Passed away peacefully in his 78th year at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on November 29th, 2018 (just after deer season). Beloved husband of Nancy, father of Steve (Beth), Stephanie (Stephanie MacLellan) and Glen (Alison).
Larry was a proud grandfather of his four grandchildren; Brittany, Jamie, Trystin and Makayla. Dear brother to Brenda (John) Glendinning. Brother in law to the late Jim Bacon (Julie).
He also leaves behind his nieces Christine Bacon, Shelley Harling (Eric) and nephews the late John Glendinning, Jim Watts (Kim), Jim Bacon (Devon), Brian Bacon (Stacie).
Larry's first passion was his family and the close friends he considered family. He loved water sports, hunting and fishing. Sports also played a large part in Larry's life from coaching to watching his children and grandchildren.
Larry worked in construction for most of his life. He will be remembered for his part in building cottage roads around Kahshe Lake, the place he called home. He spent earlier years in rock drilling and blasting. Many of those years were spent from Ontario to British Columbia for Majestic Wiley Pipeline as a blasting foreman. His job gave him the ability to change the face of the earth literally, something he was very proud of.
Larry's favourite song was ‘I Can Help' by Billy Swan. Larry's last wish was that anyone who would like to honour the life he lived do something good for someone else, a personal gesture for a friend or stranger, or a donation to a cause that means something to you.
Family will receive friends (and Larry would want kids to come too) for an informal celebration of Larry's life on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 at the Gravenhurst Arena (Terry Fox Auditorium). Casual dress. Arrangements entrusted to Cavill Funeral Home. Personal condolences and donations may be arranged at www.cavillfuneralhome.com.

Service Details.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at Gravenhurst Centennial Centre.
