KENNETH CHARLES BRUNTON
1935-2021
Kenneth Charles Brunton, a kind, gentle, loving, man with humorous wit passed away January 7, 2021 at Andy’s House, Hospice of Muskoka in Port Carling with family at his side, following his courageous battle with cancer. Born in Gravenhurst July 6, 1935. The second youngest son of the late Alfred and Elsie. Brothers of Harold, Gilbert, Douglas, Henry, Lorne, Edward, John, Doris (Williams), Gordon (all deceased). Left to mourn him brothers George and Gerald (Carol). Ken had an inexhaustible love for his family and friends. Married to his high school sweetheart Shirley (Thomas) 64 years. Lovingly remembered by his sons Brian (Barbara) and Kenneth Blaine, grandchildren Tyler, Jennine, Victoria, Jennifer and Travis and six great-grandchildren. Especially loved Uncle Bim to his many nieces and nephews. Retired Captain of the City of Toronto Fire Department. He received an Exemplary Service Medal and two Citations for his outstanding act of courage during his 35 years. He was the Director of the Resource Rangers Youth Program. With his ‘country boy’ spirit he was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting fishing, boating, snowmobiling and camping with his family. With his ‘adventurous spirit’ they motored with their travel trailer widely throughout North America. Complying with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life with be held at a future date.
