Kathleen Margaret Fitchett

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 18, 2025, in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

Kathleen, lovingly known as Kay, was predeceased by her beloved spouses, the late Wilfred Fitchett and the late Nikki Boyd. She was also predeceased by her cherished children Betty, Mary, and John. She leaves behind her children Andy and Gloria, and will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Cindy, Amanda, Crystal, Elisha, Tammy, Collin, Jackie, and many others.

Kay was a proud great-grandmother to Drayden (Angel), Tianna, Brianna, Brandon, Tyson, Karma, Lucas, Amy, Haley, Ashanti, Devon, Gabrielle, Melvin, Myya, Dakota, and Jason, and was predeceased by Alex and Mitchell. She was also a loving great-great-grandmother to Roman (predeceased), with another great-great-grandchild, baby Jacob, expected in August 2025.

She was a dear sister to Vernice, Terry, Truman, and her beloved sister, whose memory remained close to her heart.

Kay had a zest for life and a heart full of love. She adored spending time outdoors, especially watching birds and the laughter of her grandchildren at play. Her favorite color was canary yellow—a perfect reflection of her sunny spirit. She had a passion for singing old country songs, knowing every word by heart, and took great joy in painting and collecting ornaments, with more than could fit in her home.

She was famous among her family for her turkey dinners, especially her secret stuffing recipe, and had a soft spot for KFC chicken and subs loaded with extra tomatoes. Easter was her favorite holiday, and she never turned down a piece of chocolate.

Above all, Kay was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her large and ever-growing family. She often said she could never have too many grandchildren, and her legacy of love will continue to grow through the generations.

Visitation will be held at New Life Church, MacTier, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in late May at MacTier Union Cemetery.
