Josephine Rainey

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in her 96th year at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge with her children by her side. Josephine was the beloved wife of Henry Rainey who predeceased her in 1989. She is survived by her caring children, Tim Rainey (Lis), Paul Rainey and Laura Rainey (Ric Evans), her loving granddaughters, Leah Rainey and Sonja Rainey and by her brother Clifford Poidevin (Muriel) and by her many wonderful nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Catherine Poidevin and by her siblings Earl Poidevin, Lloyd Poidevin, Hilton Poidevin, Millicent Smith and Beth Chapman and by her grandson Eric Rainey. Josephine loved fashion, design and sports. She was known as the energizer bunny. The family would like to thank the Staff at The Pines Long Term Care Home for their wonderful care. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Josephine's life will be held at the Cavill - Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 3:00 p. m. with visitation being held one hour prior to service time.
