Prindiville, John Edward Flt. Sgt. John E. Prindiville 25992 R.C.A.F. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302, Gravenhurst) Passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 92 years. John is survived by his siblings, Margaret Maule of Ottawa, Betty Prindiville of Ottawa and Richard Pindiville of Trenton. He is preceded in death by his twin sister Violet Prindiville (Jan. 1940) and by his wife Adele Hilda Prindiville (nee Pierre) as well as his grandson Pierre Harris Lund. Survived by his children, Patty Carlson (Don), Michael, Peggy Lund (Kevin), Mark (Carol) as well as his grandchildren: Kent (Paula), Victoria (Matt), Lindsay (Kyle), Jennifer, Katie, Jessica, Jasmine, Dustin and Tara-Lyn. Great grandfather to Declan, Dexter, Callum, Nolan and Ian. John was born in Ottawa on February 6, 1924 along with his twin sister Violet to Edward Patrick Prindiville of Ottawa and Elsie (Winstanley) Prindiville of Liverpool, England. John joined the air force and was a veteran of W. W. 2. He served in the Royal Canadian Airforce for 25 years and then retired to Gravenhurst, Ontario where he worked until his time of retirement from Canada Post. Both John and his wife Adele volunteered for many years at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital auxiliary. Family members were welcomed at the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home in Gravenhurst on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 for a private visitation and funeral service to celebrate John's life. Cremation followed. In memory of John, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302, Gravenhurst or to the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for their care to make our father, grandfather and great grandfather comfortable in his last moments.
