John Newstead

John Arthur Newstead Passed away January 21st, 2013 at his home in Gravenhurst, just two days before his 88th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred. Cherished father to Tom (Gail), Andy and Jack (Marilyn). Dear Grandfather to Zoe, Aili, Britt, Vicky, Sarah (Russel), Lisa and Eric (Karen). Loving Great-Grandfather to Jett, Kylee, Danielle and Tristan. Survived by his sister-in-law, Victoria Stacey. John lived with his wife in several places in Ontario and they spent a number of years living in Africa. He could always be counted on for sage travel advice and entertaining stories of their life abroad. John was a keen traveller his entire life, most recently taking trips to France, England and Panama. Whilst at home in Gravenhurst, he always took a strong interest in the family's flower and vegetable gardens. John enjoyed family gatherings and good conversation over good meals.
