John "Jack" Muskett DeValadares

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John "Jack" DeValadares on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Andy’s House Hospice Muskoka in Port Carling, ON. He was 93. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, and his loving son, William (Janine). He was a cherished father-in-law to Linda, Tracy, and Ronald. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Emma, Tom, Katherine, Sarah, Jason, Tyler, and Tina, as well as his eleven great-grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his dear children Terry, Joanne, and Norman, as well as his granddaughter Amanda.

After the passing of Carol’s sister, Jack and Carol lovingly welcomed her children—Paul, Jane, Marion, and Allan—into their family, embodying their deep sense of love and unity.

Jack found great joy in the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, and practicing taxidermy. He was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures of life, finding peace in quiet moments and working with his hands. He took pride in raising his own food and gardening, fostering a deep connection to nature. Family meant everything to Jack, and he treasured the close-knit community that extended beyond immediate relatives to include all those he held dear.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cavill Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow, where family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Jack’s life.

Jack’s legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
