John Thomas Harkiss (Jack) (Owner of Dixie TV Repairs in Mississauga from the 60's until early 80's) Peacefully at his daughters home in Severn Bridge, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in his 81st. year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Harkiss (nee Busch) who predeceased Jack in 2005. Beloved father to Elaine and her husband Scott Laird of Severn Bridge, John Harkiss and his partner Yvel Belliveau of Brampton and Jim Harkiss and his partner Julene Jones of Bracebridge. Jack was the adored grandfather of Adam Laird, Sarah Laird and Jacqueline Harkiss. From the early age of just 4 years, Jack showed a keen interest with hunting especially deer and moose and his family fondly referred to him as the "great white hunter". Jack was also known as the "walleye whisperer". Every Spring Jack was able to catch the" big one" at the cottage on the Severn River in Kilworthy. No wonder the cottage was Jack's favourite place to be. He had the perfect view. Jack was able to sit in his rocking chair in the sunroom at the cottage and look out onto the majestic beauty of the waterfall while sharing many stories with family and friends of his younger days and wilder times. Jack was the best husband, dad, grandpa and friend to many. He will be missed by all especially his faithful four legged companion Maggie who was always at his side. In keeping with Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place and interment of his ashes will take place at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton in the near future.In memory, donations to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
