John Davie

Davie, John (Jack) Veteran of W.W. II Medical coordinator with the Italian Campaign. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302, Gravenhurst. At the age of 94, Jack passed away peacefully at his home at the Granite Ridge Retirement Residence in Gravenhurst on Friday, August 24, 2018. Jack was the beloved husband to Verna Mae Davie (nee Husselstrom) who predeceased him on July 2013. Beloved father to Janice (Dave) Courts of Utopia, Rodger (Loraine) Davie of Whitby, J. Philip (Barb) Davie of Burlington and Ruth (Ed) Pluska of Mississauga. Jack was the proud grandfather to Paul, Tania, Elana, Jessica, Devon and Josh and great grandfather of 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Gravenhurst on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Legion Service of Remembrance will be held at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. immediately followed by the funeral service. Interment will follow at Mickle Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gravenhurst Royal Canadian Legion Branch #302 would be appreciated.
