Jack was also lovingly referred to as Jackie, Jackson, Carl!, Jack-o, Jack a**, Uncle Jack, Uncle pork chop, Dad, and Papa.
Jack leaves behind wife Cathy (McInnes), children Kenny (Heather), Stephanie (Greg),and granddaughters Kendra, Rae, Hailey and Lilly. Jack was the youngest son of the late Doris & Lloyd DeCaire, and brother to Barry, Pat, and the late Doug, Bob, and Bill. Brother in-law to Jamie (Laura). He will be fondly remembered by many nephews, nieces, friends and community.
Jack loved to be in the driver’s seat and was a dedicated worker wherever he was. Over his years he moved through driving the snowmobile trail groomer, to the barge on the lake, trucks of all sizes, and all types of equipment. Jack ran backhoes, excavators and graters, and if you could handle his teaching style he’d show you how too. He enjoyed and took pride in his work and was a Town of Gravenhurst employee at the time of his passing.
Jack was always there as Dad and as Papa, whether to bring a backup sub pump in the middle of the night or to down that tricky looking tree, he would make sure it was taken care of. Papa made years of memories pulling the trailer for yearly camping, and Great Wolf Lodge trips with Nana and the granddaughters.
Jack passed on his knowledge and love of hunting, fishing, ATVing, and camping to his children and grandchildren. He also turned many friends into extended family through these passions.
Jack will be remembered for his quick wit, fun loving spirit, and deep love for his family.
A drop in celebration of life will be held on September 28th from 12 - 2:30pm at the Legion in Bala.
To honour Jack’s love of pets, donations made to the OSPCA greatly are appreciated:
