Gloria Smith

SMITH, Gloria Mabel (Lawrence) - In her 74th year, surrounded by family, Gloria Mabel Smith passed away peacefully on March 4, 2018 at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Gloria was the proud mother of Shannon (Dan) French, Clayton Smith and Brea Smith (Terry Dacosta) and grandson Noah French and predeceased by granddaughter Chloe French. She also leaves behind her brother John Lawrence (Pauline Nadeau), sister Betty Patry (late Marcel), step sisters Diane (Al) Genier, Sharon (Cliff) Arnold, Joanne (David) Wilson, Aldine Doiron (Randy Beal) and predeceased by step brother Ray Doiron. Gloria is predeceased by her father Chester Lawrence (Dorothy Doiron) and mother Mabel (nee Alexander). She has many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly. Gloria loved her bingo, going to the casino and playing games such as Phase 10, Yatzee and Marbles, just to name a few. She was most proud of her children and loved every moment she spent with her grandchildren. She loved to sew, bake and watch baseball: Go Jays Go! Christmas was her favorite time of year. Mom: we love you, we will miss you and we will always be grateful to you for the strength and compassion you instilled in us all. Friends may join the family on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10-12PM at Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, Gravenhurst, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 12:00PM with reception to follow.
