Beattie, Gilbert Peacefully at his home, The Granite Ridge Retirement Residence in Gravenhurst on Wednesday August 15, 2012. Gilbert Beattie in his 98th year. Gilbert has joined his beloved wife Evelyn Grace Beattie (nee Ewing) who predeceased Gilbert on February 8, 2011. Beloved father of Robert (Teresa) Beattie of Lagoon City and Loreen (Bruce) Smyth of Toronto He was an inspiring grandfather to Tracy Beattie, Kevin and Steven Smyth. Dad immigrated from Aberdeen, Scotland at the age of 15 with his family. He had a rewarding career with the CIBC Bank for 50 years. Mom and Dad would have been married for 71 years on June 14, 2012. Our cherished memories are numerous but some of our favourite ones are Grandpa and his music, dancing and his stories which went on and on ...... Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate the life of Gilbert Beattie will take place at the Granite Ridge Retirement Residence, 1097 Bethue Drive South, Gravenhurst on Saturday September 29, 2012 from 2-4 p. m. The Beattie and Smyth families cannot find enough words to express our appreciation to the Team at Granite Ridge. ""Haste Ye Back""
