Frank Hamer

Franjo “Frank” Hamer passed away suddenly on November 24, 2021 at age 81. He leaves behind his loving wife Pat Hamer. Cherished father of Janice Simon (Jim), Steven Hamer (Sabrina) and Susan (BJ) Coombs. Adoring grandfather to Jessie (Danielle), Tyler, Carson, Austin, Eamon, Madison, Jack, Summer, Maya and Mason. Beloved Uncle to Branko (Tina) and many nieces and nephews.

Frank is predeceased by his parents from Croatia, Tomo and Margarita. He had 9 siblings. He is survived by Ignaz (Matilda) of Hamilton, Ljubica of Croatia, Anna (Steve) of Germany and Vlado (Juliana) of Croatia.

Also missing Frank are his sister in law Sue-Ann Taylor (pre-deceased Phil), brother in law Billy Taylor (Peg), sister in law Glenda Taylor (Paul pre-deceased)

Special family members include Brian and Christine Crisp.

Frank was born in Cakovec, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada December 8, 1960. He went from Hamilton, to Toronto and then to Gravenhurst. Frank met George and Margaret Beard, and began working at Gravenhurst Plastics.  Frank worked his way up to become co-owner of the company and president.  He built strong business relationships in his community and beyond.

Frank’s passions were work, his family and enjoying his property on Lake Muskoka. He cherished his time with his grandchildren, touring the property on his tractor and golf cart. He was a wonderful dance partner and former jockey. He looked forward to returning to Croatia many times to visit family.

Frank always had a twinkle in his eye, smile on his face and Kiki’s in his pocket.

Visitations will be held on Friday, November 26 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Cavill Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Saturday, November 27 at 11 AM. Please see below for registration instructions.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Visitation will be conducted in half-hour intervals. All who are not family,  must RSVP with ALL names of those attending. Please RSVP below for your desired timeslot. The family has been registered with the funeral home already.
