Edith Commandant

COMMANDANT, Edith (nee Sahanatien) Of Wahta First Nations, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, December 25th, 2013 at Leisureworld Muskoka in Gravenhurst in her 88th Year. Beloved wife of the late Ferdinand Commandant of Wahta. Loving mother of Arnold Commandant (Diane) of Brampton, Jim Commandant of Wahta, Wayne Commandant of Wahta, and Donna McArthur of St. Catharines. Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Jason, Jamie, Benjamin Chris, Sean, Joshua and Melanie. Dear great grandmother of Sheldon, Bishop, Brian, Owen, Nathaniel, Willow, Myla, Eli, Jay Jay, Leanne, Jaylee and Bradley. Edith will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends in Wahta. Pre-deceased by her siblings Sarah, Florence, Wesley, Gordon and Louis. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28th, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Wahta United Church. The service will be held on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Wahta United Church. Edith will be laid to rest in the spring at Wahta Cemetery.
