Dorothy Hillier

Hillier, Dorothy Joan (née Vedd) of Bala passed away peacefully with family by her side at South Muskoka Memorial Monday, September 25, 2017. Age 83 years. Beloved wife of the late William H. Hillier; loving mother of William J.(Annie) Hillier; doting sister of Ronald (Iris) and Harold (Beverly) Vedd. "Aunt Dow" will be lovingly remembered by nephews, Ronnie (Julie) and Jason Vedd. "Nanny" will be dearly missed by grandsons, Brad (Alison) and Adam, and great-grandson Porter Hillier. Resting in the Cavill-Turner Funeral Home (215 Bay Street,, Gravenhurst, On P1P 1H1) where the family will receive visitors Saturday, September 30th from 11:00am - 1:00pm. A service in celebration of life will take place thereafter in the Cavill Memorial Chapel from 1 - 1:30pm. Interment at Torrance Cemetery (1032 East Bay Road, Torrance, On P0C 1M0) from 2 - 3pm with reception to follow at Bala United Church (3115 Muskoka Road 169, Bala, On P0C 1A0) from 3 - 5pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by family. Veteran thirty-one player, master bread baker and meat pie maker, Nanny spoiled all that made it into her heart.
