Clarence Welby Decaire, a respected optician and pillar of the community, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Lakeland Long-term Care in Parry Sound, Ontario. He was born on April 1, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario.
Clarence was the devoted father of Brian Decaire and Nancy Decaire. He was a beloved son of the late Lilly Decaire and a dear brother to Katy.
Clarence owned and operated Decaire Optical on Bloor and Dufferin for approximately 30 years. His expertise and commitment to providing exceptional vision care services earned him a well-deserved reputation in the community. Beyond his professional life, Clarence devoted much of his time to serving as a warden at Little Trinity Church in Toronto.
Clarence had an avid passion for sports. Whether it was hockey, golf, or softball, he delighted in participating and watching these athletic pursuits.
One of Clarence's proudest accomplishments was his involvement in medical missions to third world countries. He wholeheartedly enjoyed sharing his skills and knowledge by distributing glasses to individuals in need. Through these missions, Clarence made a significant impact on countless lives and left an indelible mark on the communities he visited.
A private spring burial will take place at Wahta Cemetery, Bala, ON.
