Christine Leja

LEJA, Krystyna “Christine” (Wolinska) - born Oct 10, 1931 in Nowogrodek, Poland, passed peacefully on Mar 17/22 at Muskoka Shores long term care home in Gravenhurst.

Beloved mother to Richard (Adrienne) and George (Lisa) and Kochana Babcia (loving Grandmother) to Christie, Olivia, Mitchell, and Ben.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Eugeniusz “Jim” as well as her brother Ted and sister Emily. Christine leaves many nephews and nieces who loved her dearly.

Mom lived an extraordinary life, fleeing Poland and living in a camp in Africa, and finally settling in Ontario where she met her cherished husband, Jim.  Her sons, and later her Grandchildren, meant everything to her.

Our special thanks to the staff at Muskoka Shores and Emma’s staff at Humber Heights Retirement home for the tremendous care she received. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow.
