Catherine “Cathy” Elizabeth Tingey (nee Shaw)
Passed away quietly in her 64th year on Saturday, February 4, 2023 with her loving soulmate Grant by her side. More than anything in the world, she loved her family, spending time with everyone and spoiling her 7 grandchildren. It was “Nana's rules” when the kids were visiting which meant there are no rules. Her fur children were also held dearly in her heart. She was creative and artistic. She was the jigsaw-puzzle-queen and never sat still except when she was enjoying a cup of tea in her fine bone china mugs and piecing together a puzzle. She loved being in nature and enjoyed watching it all around her home from the birds that flocked to her birdfeeders, to bees and butterflies taking advantage of her beautiful flower gardens. The chipmunks were her greatest enemies. She tried not to let cancer slow her down but in the end it did. She is survived by her husband Grant Tingey, her son Michael Shaw (Patti), stepchildren Lauren Nordheimer (Breck), Nicole Tingey (Ron Bell), Blake Tingey (Ashley), sister Susan Shaw, brother Greg Shaw (Cathy Barrett), and seven grand children Thea Shaw, Jack, Andy and Sloan Nordheimer, Sawyer and Lawson Tingey, and Hattie Bell. Our hearts are broken and our world is empty without her in it. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 9 at Cavill Funeral Home in Gravenhurst from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A service commemorating her life and burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the OSPCA – Muskoka greatly appreciated.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Cavill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Barkway Cemetery.
