The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gordon Petch can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Sherri McNeil
Condolence: Sandra, our deepest condolences to you. We did not learn about Gordons passing until just this past weekend. You and Gordon were the bus drivers for my girls from their first day of JK right up to their last day of Grade 8 at Monck on the 306 route from Port Carling, although we did not know you out of that aspect of your lives it was a honour to know Gordon and to see the love of life he had, always a smile and a greeting for the kids, he was as they called him their "bus grampa" and Sandra you their "bus gramma". Thank you for the cherished memories, may Gordon rest in peace and Sandra may you treasure your life. Blessings xxoo Sherri McNeil, Emma & Lily Veitch

Condolence: Gord was a neighbour on Charles Rd. for several years and a friend for many more. We were seasonal dwellers, but Gord & Sandy lived in their home year-round. Gord, therefore took on many roles in helping us with all kinds of tasks pertaining to our property. Things got fixed, sorted, bought and sold - plants got watered. If Gord couldn't help with something, he always knew who to call and many times would take that on himself. We will be forever grateful to Gord and Sandy for the care they gave my mother when she was living on her own at the cottage - without them, she would not have been able to stay there. It was so reassuring to know they were right next door. Even when Gord and Sandy left Charles Rd., Gord continued to lend a helping hand by making sure we could all get in our driveways during the winter. He and Sandy were honorary members of Charles Rd by continuing to attending the annual Canada Day party every year. I promise that this July 1, Gord, I will make sure that we all raise a glass to you!!!

Condolence: Stacy and I met Gord and Sandra when we bought our lake house in the summer of 2004, and they were our next door neighbours. We hit it off immediately, and they soon became among our closest friends. Gord was a little bit younger than my father and he soon became like a second father to me. We shared many meals together over the years. They were always so much fun. Gord had a wonderful sense of humour and was a great storyteller. So there was lots of laughter , cheerful banter and hugs at the beginning and end of our visits. Gord was a very humble man and he loved all of his family dearly. I never heard Gord complain about anything including all the various health issues he had. The true measure of a person is how thry face the greatest adversity in life, their imminent death while suffering from a deadly disease. Stacy, Jon (my son) and I went to see Gord in the hospital about 8 days before his passing. Gord was totally focussed on us, asking how we were, our health, how good we looked, and his appreciation for us coming. We even were telling jokes to each other. What a great legacy to be so tuned in and concerned about others during this very difficult period in your life. I am certain that Gord got on the express elevator to heaven as I have never known a more caring, generous, thoughtful man who would do anything for you. Gord, you will live in our hearts forever and your legacy will guide your family and friends to always do the right thing with grace and humility
